Specialist care provider Craegmoor Healthcare has acquired the entire issued share capital of Hampshire based specialist residential care home group, Forward Housing and other associated limited companies. Forward Housing was a privately owned company formed in 1994. The group expanded organically throughout its eight year history, the first home Fernhill Lodge in New Milton having been acquired in 1993 and the most recent, Heron House in Freemantle, Southampton opened in May 2001. The five residential care homes are registered for a total of 53 beds and specialise in the care of adults with learning difficulties, ranging from the ages of 18-60 years. Craig Woollam, healthcare director at FPDSavills, said the transfer of Forward Housing took about 10 months to complete, following a strictly confidential marketing campaign designed to protect the business, residents and staff. “Groups of this size and nature are rare to the market and interest from the corporate sector was high,” Mr Woollam said.
