Smart card laundry a winner

Tenants in Riverside Place, the only high rise blocks of flats in Ayr, can now do their laundry faster and in a more secure environment because of a new smart card operated laundry equipment, installed by Electrolux Laundry Systems. The new Electrolux industrial washing machines and tumble dryers, with smart card operation, were installed to take the place of the existing cash operated equipment, which was due for replacement. “We wanted to replace our laundry equipment with more heavy duty machines and took the opportunity to look at what up-to-date equipment was available,” said Ayr North Housing Services assistant manager Marguerite Ritchie. “We chose the machines with the new smart card payment system as it allows tenants to operate the machines without coins and makes the laundry rooms more secure and less noisy. Also, as the smart card is used to open the doors to the laundry rooms only those people authorised to use them can gain access, which reduces the potential for vandalism.” Tel: 01582-661059
