UK catering and support services provider Sodexho will provide the essential facilities management services for a new £350 million Private Finance Initiative in North Staffordshire. Sodexho is part of the consortium led by Equion plc, a division of John Laing plc, which also includes Laing O¹Rourke and Siemens. Equion has been chosen as preferred bidder for the scheme which includes the build and operation of a new acute hospital on the University Hospital of North Staffordshire¹s City General site, and a new community hospital for North Stoke Primary Care Trust on the Haywood and Stanfield sites. Construction will be phased, with buildings opening as they are ready. The whole project is expected to be completed by about 2009/10.
