Southern Cross subsidiary acquires Intercare

Specialist care provider Active Care Partnerships Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Southern Cross Healthcare Ltd, the fourth largest UK provider of independent long-term care services, has added another 170 beds to its portfolio with the purchase of the Intercare Group of residential care facilities. Philip Scott, director of Darlington-based Active Care Partnerships, said the Intercare homes were of an exceptionally high standard. “The outgoing shareholders are to be congratulated for developing this portfolio and we are very pleased that the management shareholders have agreed to assist us with the integration exercise and the development of further specialist new build opportunities,” Mr Scott said. “Their acquisition further supports our strategic growth requirements in terms of our specialist service provision.” The Intercare Group acquisition brings Active¹s portfolio to 530 beds, providing specialist care support services for clients with learning disabilities and mental health needs aged between 18
