Southport home taken into Craegmoor fold

Craegmoor Healthcare has added to its care home portfolio with the acquisition of Ravenswood nursing home in Birkdale, Southport, Lancashire. Ravenswood provides 30 individual private rooms, caring for elderly and infirm people and offering palliative care for the terminally ill. Craegmoor has no plans to make any changes to the formerly owner-managed home which, it says, enjoys an excellent relationship with the local community. Craegmoor’s north west regional manager Melanie Broadbent said Ravenswood would be run by its existing team of long-serving staff, overseen by Denise Wood, a former senior sister who was recently promoted to home manager. “We are keen to maintain and develop the strong reputation Ravenswood has earned over the years,” Ms Broadbent said. “At present, Ravenswood enjoys full occupancy and has residents from 65 upwards.” Craegmoor operates more than 120 homes, providing residential, nursing and specialist care to more than 4,000 residents.
