Spirit of co-operation at Welsh care conference

The Annual Care Conference for Wales has steadily grown its reputation as a ‘must-attend’ event for Welsh professional care-givers, with the recent 2009 event (the seventh), held at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff, being the biggest and best-attended.

Organised by Caring Times in association with Care Forum Wales, the annual conference has been sponsored by Hallmark Healthcare and Christie & Co for many years, both of whom were delighted to welcome new sponsors Hugh James Solicitors.

As is now customary, Care Forum Wales chief executive Mario Kreft welcomed the keynote speaker, Welsh Deputy Minister for Social Services, Gwenda Thomas, who spoke warmly about the spirit of co-operation in Wales as epitomised by the new Memorandum of Understanding.

After the minister, Natalie Cooper, assistant chief inspector for Wales, was able to show how the merger of SSIW and CSIW had encouraged an improvement in care services in Wales, as well as pointing to CSSIW plans for the future.
