Planning permission has been granted to Boswell Hotels Ltd, owners of the Anson House nursing home in Great Haywood, Stafford, for the development of a fully integrated care village alongside the existing 65-bed home for elderly people and elderly people with dementia. The village, the culmination of five years’ work and planning, will comprise 69 apartments, and six bungalows along with facilities for a lounge/restaurant, bar, hairdressing salon, fitness room, spa pool, library/IT room, craft room workshops, activity hall and greenhouse. The complex, the first village of its kind in the immediate area, will be connected to Anson House via a linked walkway. Boswell says several enquiries had already been received with regard to reserving accommodation in the care village complex.
