Sweetbaum leaves Barchester

Barry Sweetbaum has stepped down from his position as director and chief operating officer for Barchester Healthcare to pursue outside business interests. During his time with the company, Barchester Healthcare has grown from 33 homes (2,000 residents) to more than 170 homes (10,000 residents). Mr Sweetbaum oversaw the group’s operating activities, including the integration of the 88 homes acquired by Barchester as part of its acquisition of Westminster Healthcare in 2004. Barchester Healthcare’s managing director Mike Parsons said Mr Sweetbaum had seen the company through a most dramatic and important period of its growth and he had done so magnificently.
