Tameside Care Group (TCG) has acquired the 50-bed dual registered Bridgewater Park care home in Scunthorpe. The acquisition takes Tameside Care Group/Meridian Healthcare to around 620 registered beds. TCG underwent a financial restructuring last year whereby the the business was acquired through an Employee Trust (Meridian healthcare). The acquisition of Bridgewater Park is the first major step by the company to develop other core businesses outside the Tameside Borough. Managing director Alan Firth described Bridgewater Park as an excellent, purpose-built facility with a good track record of care provision and profitability. “Its acquisition will further enhance Tameside Care Group/Meridian Healthcare¹s reputation as a major residential and nursing home care provider in the north east and north west,” he said.
