Woodcroft residents get more than a Fair deal at mealtimes

Chris Fair, catering manager at Woodcroft care home, has dedicated his 25 years in the catering business to the home in Market Drayton. Originally employed at Quarry House with Shropshire County Council, Chris (pictured right) moved to Woodcroft when it was purpose built to replace an older building. The home came under the ownership of Coverage Care Shropshire in 1997. Said 93-year-old resident Dorothy Owen: “I remember Chris when he first arrived in the kitchens and I used to help him out with the teas.” In the 25 years Chris has seen many changes in his own life, having got engaged, married and celebrated the arrival of his two children while at the home. “I really do love my job and have never wanted to work anywhere else,” said Chris. “Also, living in Market Drayton has always been very handy for me travelling to work. The years have really flown-by it doesn¹t seem like 25 years. “I love catering for the residents, and if I make something new that they don¹t like they quickly voice their opinions.”
