The European Confederation of Care Home Owners (ECHO) held a special meeting in London in June to discuss proposals by the Spanish delegate, Jose Garcia Martinez, to strengthen the international identity of ECHO. His main proposal was that ECHO should be registered as an organisation in each country, and all bound together by a contract. Attending the meeting, chaired by Tony Pittaccio, were delegates from France, Italy Portugal, Spain and the UK, with solicitors from France, Portugal and Spain who were there to give advice. The meeting’s outcome was that the solicitors would meet in Barcelona in July to consider the legal aspects of the proposals, and submit a report to the next ECHO meeting in September.
