Award brings Breda new opportunities

Winning the Sheltered Housing Manager/Warden of the Year Award, as part of Care Awards ’99 organised by _Caring Times_, has proved to be to be a significant milestone for Breda Redmond-Hunt. Breda has been the warden of Crown Housing Association’s North London scheme for more than four years. She found that for many residents, waiting for repairs to be done causes a great deal of anxiety, discomfort and annoyance. Her diligent and tireless telephoning of contractors, office staff, cinsultants and the like has, on many occasions, prevented tenants becoming desperate by her reassurance that somebody does care. Since winning the award Breda has been invited to join the committee of the National Wardens Association. She has also been asked to consider being a speaker at a conference organised by the Chartered Institute of Housing. Categories for Care Awards 2000 are being finalised and details of how to enter will be published in forthcoming issues of _Caring Times_. Judging will take place in October with presen
