A Leicester based healthcare supply company has acquired the customer base of one of its former competitors – Apollo Healthcare Ltd – for an undisclosed sum. Baker Hygiene supplies hygiene, healthcare and medical products to nursing and residential homes throughout the UK. As a result of this deal, Baker has increased its customer base by 600. Managing director Keith Baker said a supply agreement has also been reached with Indas Healthcare (UK) Limited, Apollo1s previous owners, to supply their products within an exclusive distribution area. “This acquisition of Apollo is an integral part of the company1s strategic growth plans and is a further commitment to providing effective and high quality systems within a market sector which is increasingly demanding improved performance from it1s suppliers,” Mr Baker said.
