Castleoak, a construction group which specialises in the older person care sector, has appointed a new development director. Steve Bucknell joins the £50 million group from Sunrise Senior Living where, for the past five years, he was regional development director covering the south of England, Wales and the border counties. He will join a newly established company within the group – Castleoak Care Developments – which will work alongside the design and build specialist, Castleoak Care Partnerships to acquire land and develop care homes which will be leased or sold to care providers. Speaking about the new appointment Castleoak executive chairman Mel Knight said there was a very clear need for a substantial number of new purpose built care homes. “We have, for some time, been aware that many care providers are looking for us to source land and offer a more complete development service than has previously been the case,” said Mr Knight.
