Cannon captures Cranford

Cranford nursing home, on the west side of Aberdeen, has been sold to Cannon Capital Ltd, which has leased the home back to Ashbourne Healthcare. The transaction is a continuance of an ongoing expansion programme following Cannon Capital¹s acquisition of Ashbourne in April 2003. The Cranford home, a modern 42-bed nursing home with mostly single ensuite bedrooms, will complement Rowan Court, Ashbourne¹s existing care home in the Aberdeen area. Alastair Strong, healthcare negotiator at the Edinburgh office of Christie & Co, who negotiated the sale, said demand for good quality care homes continued to outstrip supply. “This was exemplified by the significant interest shown in Cranford by a variety of potential buyers including corporate operators, regional operators and individuals,” Mr Strong said. “By working closely with David Beecham of our corporate healthcare team, interest was generated from all corners of the United Kingdom.” Cranford Nursing Home was sold off an asking price of £2,500,000.
