Care home float offers good news for sector

Healthcare Reil is expected to launch next month focused on care homes and hospitals

A listed care home and hospital company will be launched next month with a five-year plan to build a £1bn portfilio. Healthcare Reit, which has already raised £40m of seed capital, is being launched by property entrepreneur Harry Hymans. Mr Hymans said that Southern Cross was an aberrstion and that healthcare Reit would not acquire assets if the target rent represented more than 65% of the operator’s earnings. The company is targetingg a yield of about 6.3% to return to shareholders.
