Castleoak completes in good time

A £4.5 million care home in Aberystwyth has been handed over ahead of schedule by design and build specialists Castleoak Care Partnerships. The Cardiff-based company was awarded the turnkey contract, its first project in Wales for more than five years, by MHA (Methodist Homes) in 2005. Hafan y Waun is a 90-bed care home which will provide general nursing care along with specialist dementia care and respite care. It also includes a day care centre. Commenting on the successful completion of the scheme, MHA group director Jane Barker, said Castleoak had again performed very well, delivering a first class building within budget, while exceeding programme timelines. “Like us, Castleoak shares an interest in getting the best results and this new home brings much needed facilities of the highest order to the area.,” said Ms Barker. “The move went extremely well and both residents and staff are thrilled with their new home which enables MHA to provide care and support to more older people.
