Couple to run new agency

The Newcross Nursing Group, which provides nurses and care workers to the NHS, private hospitals, homecare providers and nursing homes, has appointed Douglas and Carol Malcolmson, a pharmacist and nurse, to run the new agency in Hamilton following the enormous success of its Falkirk branch which opened last year. Mr and Mrs Malcolmson, who are well known in the area, began running the new branch on July 22. Newcross managing director Michelle Pattrick said their task was to make Newcross the first call for local nursing and care homes in the Glasgow and Lanarkshire area as well as providing nursing and caring staff to local hospitals. “Newcross only expanded into Scotland last year and have been so overwhelmed with our success at Falkirk that we have launched additional offices in Edinburgh and now Hamilton well ahead of schedule,” Ms Pattrick said.
