Directory maps corporate activity

The purpose of the recently published nineteenth edition of Laing & Buisson’s annual directory of major providers of long term care is to map corporate activity in the long term care sector of independent nursing and personal care and to document ownership trends. As in previous editions, the directory includes separate details of both providers of care for older and physically disabled people, and for learning disabled and mentally ill people. The directory includes details of 848 major providers as below, including the top major providers (by beds). They are: Southern Cross Healthcare Ltd (27,605 beds) BUPA Care Homes (20,860 beds) Four Seasons Health Care Ltd (16,392 beds) Barchester Health Care Ltd (10,024 beds) Anchor Trust (4,237 beds) Orders of St John Care Trust (3,264 beds) Craegmoor Ltd (2,623 beds) Care UK plc (2,457 beds) MHA Care Group (2,446 beds) Bondcare (2,347 beds) Abbeyfield Society Ltd (2,170 beds) SHAW Healthcare (Homes) Ltd (2,148 beds) Life Style Care plc (1,893 beds) Excelcare Holdin
