Fire safety training pack launched

Specialist training provider Pembroke Group, based in Hove East Sussex, recently launched a fire safety training pack. Titled ‘Don’t Panic’, the pack contains both a DVD and a VHS format training film, a manager’s training manual and a staff booklet. Launched in the Attlee Suite at the House of Commons the training resource has been produced in response to new fire safety rules which came into force in October, affecting all non-domestic premises in England and Wales. Pembroke says the main effect of the new rules move towards greater emphasis on fire prevention, with proprietors and managers of care homes homes being obliged to carry out a fire risk assessment and ensure the safety of all those who may be affected by the risk of fire. “More importantly they must ensure that staff understand the new rules,” says Pembroke. “They should also provide information and training in fire precautions and emergency arrangements.
