Four Seasons adds Gladman to portfolio

Major provider Four Seasons Health Care has acquired three care homes from family-owned construction company, Gladman Care Homes Ltd which were offered for sale through GVA Grimley. The homes, located in Stockport and Birkenhead (three homes at two sites), have been developed since 2002 and comprise a total of 253 single bedrooms, all including ensuite facilities. Gladman Group chairman David Gladman said the homes had been sold to allow the group to focus on their core construction business. “We have developed the homes and operated them through the start-up phase, but we believe it is now appropriate to move on to other projects,” said Mr Gladman. In addition to the quality of the buildings and their reputation for good quality care, Four Seasons was attracted to the homes because of their focus on partnerships with the public sector purchasers. Four Seasons corporate development director Tim Street said that, with a significant proportion of the beds block-contracted to the local authorities and local PCTs
