Handling the PACE interview – a survivor’s guide

We’ve had an increasing number of care providers approaching us in recent months telling us that they have been invited by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) to attend an interview under PACE (the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984). Last year CSCI sought to step up its enforcement activity and set up dedicated enforcement teams in each of its regions. The increasing trend to invite providers to interview no doubt is a product of that policy. Receiving such an invitation is an understandably worrying event for a care provider.
