Internet venture will list every care home

The Stationery Office is the latest, and probably the biggest, player to launch an internet-based care home directory service. The new business, www.bettercaring.co.uk, aims to improve the occupancy levels and profitability of the independent UK care home sector. Backed up with call centre resources, the service lists all 18,600 registered care homes in the UK, including registration information and detailed information on each care home (gathered in conjunction with the A-Z Care Home Directory). Bettercaring.co.uk managing director Kevin Hague describes the service as the definitive source online for care home information. “With a focused marketing campaign aimed at care professionals and other Å’influencers¹ such as GPs and specialised charities, as well as specialist effort to ensure top rankings on Å’search engines¹, bettercaring.co.uk expects to become the leading resource used by both care professionals and the general public when researching care home options,” Mr Hague said. “Print directories simpl
