Jewish Care has this year received a record number of applications for positions at the charity’s care homes.

Quarterly recruitment drives normally generate 100 – 200 responses and enquiries to advertisements. This year, there were 1,908 enquiries to the recruitment line and a further 467 emailed enquiries – an almost 1600% increase.

Diane Blausten, Jewish Care’s director of human resources, said two thousand application packs were sent out and 140 people were asked to attend an assessment day for the 43 vacancies for residential care workers, residential support workers and team leaders.
