Local authority embargoes – turning the tanker

“My local authority has ceased placements” – it is a statement we hear at Ridouts with a certain regularity. Our initial answer is, of course, why?

At this stage there is usually one of two fairly predictable responses: (1) “because CSCI have given us a bad inspection” – which translates to CSCI have inspected and reported that we provide poor outcomes; or (2) “because of a POVA”.
