Mains device triggers Dorgard

Fireco Ltd has launched Mainsgard, a complementary mains-failure warning system for its Dorgard audio-electronic fire door retainer. Mainsgard is described as another simple device designed by Fireco for use in conjunction with Dorgard, an easy to fit fire door stay that allows fire doors to release when it receives a signal from the fire alarm. “Mainsgard offers low cost, early power failure detection in buildings where a risk assessment determines that fire doors must close in the event of a mains power failure,” says Fireco.” “As Dorgard is sound activated, Mainsgard provides the seamless link in a mains failure situation by delivering an audio signal, causing all adjacent Dorgards to Å’fail-safe¹ and close fire doors. “Mainsgard is totally self-contained and plugs into a standard 3 pin (square) mains socket.
