New chairman joins Robinia after 15 years at Unilever

Specialist learning disabled care company Robinia Care has appointed Paul Gourmand as chairman. Mr Gourmand spent 15 years with Unilever plc, with senior management positions in the UK and Africa, spanning the food and plastics divisions. During the last 15 years he has specialised in developing companies through to full public quotation or to trade sales. As managing director of companies including TKM Foods, he has managed a wide range of acquisitions, business turn-rounds, and strategic sales or flotations. He is currently chairman of Deltron Electronics and S&A Foods Ltd and a non-executive director of Redbridge Holdings Ltd and Assistlight Ltd. Robinia Care chief executive Elizabeth Wagstaff said the company was at at a crucial stage in its development, with an ambitious growth strategy and a major acquisition programme under way. “Paul Gourmand¹s experience will be invaluable to us in the next phase of the company¹s development,” Ms Wagstaff said.
