Two major long term care providers, Exemplar Healthcare and Somerset HCA Ltd , have announced their plans for expansion, with funding provided by The Royal Bank of Scotland Group. Rotherham-based Exemplar Healthcare enjoyed a successful start to 2005 following its recognition at the recent Caring Times Care Awards and the development of a number of new care homes in South Yorkshire, funded by NatWest, which is part of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group. Exemplar runs a number of care homes throughout Yorkshire and the Midlands, caring for adults who are physically disabled or who have Huntingdon¹s disease. In 2004 it opened Fairwinds in Rotherham, a purpose-built 20-bed unit providing nursing care and support to younger adults. In addition, Exemplar refurbished Ferham House, situated in Masbrough, just outside Rotherham town centre. The company¹s Pathways Day Care was scheduled to open in March. Plans are also under way for a new nursing home in Kendray, Barnsley and Grimethorpe also funded by NatWest. Exe
