Retirement housing operator Richmond Villages has gained detailed planning permission to build a new development in Aston on Trent, Derbyshire, suitable for anyone over the age of 55.

Councillors voted unanimously for the scheme which will offer a variety of accommodation and 24-hour nursing care, plus a range of facilities. Richmond Villages plans to start building work in November, with the development scheduled for completion by 2010.
