September 1 deadline for responses to draft standards for care and health employment agencies

Standards for employment agencies providing care and health staff are being proposed for the first time by Topss England, the care sector strategic workforce development body, which has issued a draft for consultation in partnership with the Recruitment and Employment Confederation. The draft SEARCH standards (Standards for Employment Agencies in Regulated Care and Health services) set out the main legal issues about using employment agencies, explores whether agencies, the agency workers or the care services are responsible for safety and quality, and identifies good professional practice in the relationship between care providers and agencies.
