Baroness Young, shadow chair of the future Care Quality Commission, will speak at the National Care Association’s Annual Conference at Brighton on 29-30 October.

Baroness Young will explain the Care Quality Commission’s Vision for its work to ensure quality of care for users, carers and families. She will also speak on how the opinions of carers and users can be channelled to inform the operation of the new commission. She will emphasise that, in aiming for a common approach to regulation, the new system will not turn into a “one size fits all”. – rather it will recognise the distinct differences that must exist, for example, between institutional long-term care and a single-business care home.
