Southern Cross plans to surrender control of 132 care homes as part of a financial restructure aimed at saving the group.

Southern Cross plans to surrender control of 132 care homes as part of a financial restructure aimed at saving the group.

 

The company, UK’s largest care home operator, has been struggling financially due to lower fees and occupancy rates. The plan is to pull out of 47 homes this year, and a further 85 homes by 2016.
