Specialist care – private equity celebrations roll on

The summer has witnessed stock markets in volatile mood, banks gripped with fear and hedge funds facing the ire of investors. The summer also saw private equity players in the specialist care sector continuing to deliver breathtaking returns to investors.

3i’s disposal of Care Principles to the Delta Fund (the Qatari backed fund which has featured in the financial press, given its stake in Sainsbury), in a transaction worth £270million, is an example of this.
