TeleLarm’s ‘Horizon’ chosen for largest sheltered housing scheme in the UK

Pemberley Road – the largest sheltered housing scheme in the country – is upgrading its existing alarm security system with new Horizon technology from TeleLarm Care. TeleLarm said the decision was made after extensive consultation with tenant groups – mainly elderly residents who appear happy to embrace new technology. The Horizon technology will significantly expand on the current alarm system to allow residents to see who is at the front door, protect them from the dangers of gas, fire and flood and activate help if a resident falls. TeleLarm Care’s Colin Jordan said it was a real coup to win the contract. “With more than 200 flats in three high rise blocks and 28 outlying bungalows, Pemberley Road is by far the largest sheltered scheme of its kind in the country,” he said. “We have beaten off the strongest competition to win the contract which we see as probably the most high profile to be awarded in recent years.” Mr Jordan said TeleLarm Care’s proven track had been a significant factor. “Our technology
