Trust fined for death in bath

A Midlands care provider has been fined a total of £23,000 after a severely disabled woman died when she was left alone in the bath.

Sandwell Community Caring Trust had admitted breaching health and safety regulations during an earlier hearing. Now, at the sentencing hearing before Wolverhampton Crown Court, the heavy fine was imposed after detail was given of the failure in care.
