Tunstall expands in European market

Tunstall, a major provider of personal and home reassurance technology, has made two acquisitions, expanding the company¹s market presence in Europe. In France, Tunstall has acquired Biotel, a major manufacturer and supplier of social alarms. Based in Paris, Biotel supports key national service providers throughout the French market. In Spain the company has acquired the sales and service network of ESES, a specialist distributor of assistive technologies, to form the subsidiary, Tunstall Ibérica. Tunstall chief executive Tony Rice said the creation of Tunstall Ibérica highlighted his company¹s continued commitment to delivering the best possible telecare capability to the Spanish market. “Rapid social and economic change in Spain has presented significant challenges to the Government, resulting in the implementation of an extensive care programme to respond to care needs, making Spain one of the fastest growing markets in Europe,” said Mr Rice. “The acquisition of Biotel and the Teleassistance business o
