Visitors flock to opening of Wilton Lodge

HICA Specialised Care Homes recently held two very successful open days at its newest residential home, Wilton Lodge, situated along Holderness Road in Hull. More than 700 visitors enjoyed a guided tour of the facilities, followed by refreshments, and many said they were overwhelmed by what they saw in the impressive 48-bed home. Wilton Lodge has a very high standard of amenity, decor and furnishing, with everything purpose-built to accommodate the needs of older people. The theme is very “East Hull” and memorabilia and Victoriana have been collected from all over the country to reflect the culture and history of this vibrant part of the city. The memorabilia collection also provides an interesting focal point in the home, as well as a nostalgic trip down memory lane for the residents. There’s even a Hull KR weather vane on the roof to represent East Hull’s famous rugby league club. The home’s bright and airy dining room overlooks Holderness Road and, thanks to a comfortable lounge area, there is plently of o
